I normally go for $25 for showers. Call me frugal, but I have to attend 4 weddings this season, last season I attended 3... and with baby showers following, and the wedding present, plus dresses, shoes, hair, make up and travel expenses I'm breaking the bank.

You can strech $25 if you go creative and make it look $60 or more.

I go straight to the clearance section and put together a basket of miscelaneous items and wrapped it in cellophan paper and tiw it witha pretty ribbon. It always look exquisite and more expensive than it really is. Sometimes I even include some inexpensive and funny items to make it memorable and away from the same ol', smale ol' shower gifts. I've een told that I'm a great gidter because I come up with the right present everytime. I try to include the persoanlity of the couple and thier interests instead of going to the obvious items. I shop a lot in amazon.com and you can save BIG BUCKS!

Because your fiance is the best man, $ 65 is fine since he is in the bridal party and perhaps more is expected of you guys.

Good luck

It depends on whose bridal shower it is. If it's a close family member or close friend, I'll spend between $50-$75, however, if it's something like the daughter of a friend, I'll spend closer to $30. Bear in mind, if you're invited to the shower, you also have to get a wedding gift as well.

I also don't think you should ever spend more than you have. If all you have to spend on a gift is $10 or $20, then that's all you spend. A gift isn't measured in dollars and cents, it's measured by the intent of the person giving it. A gift that comes straight from the heart means so much more to anyone than one that could cost hundreds of dollars. Just ask any mom who has gotten a macaroni necklace or a bunch of dandelions from her child.

I NEVER go by price, just by what I think is great - and like you say, sales are wonderful! I guess normally I would spend around 30 for a shower, 50 for family. Doubled for a wedding gift.

I think that would be a perfect gift.. The more expensive it looks the better you look giving that gift.. Especially if you got it on sale.... Always Check Macys specials.. They sometimes have 60% off in stores.. and They have some great stuff for Bridal gifts.

You spend what you can afford. Yes hit those sales you can find great gifts for less than the normal price and they will never know. You could also make up a gift basket full of stuff from your local discount stores. Like put bubble bath in there some wine/champagne glasses (you could also decorate the glasses with glitter pens saying his and hers and maybe some hot glue gun some flowers on them) a movie they might like to watch together some massage oils depending on how much money you want to spend you could also add new robes/slippers for him and her a chocolate cover strawberries kit or just some chocolate cover pretzels you get the picture fun stuff for the couple to enjoy together.

It depends first of all on your budget. You should never put yourself in debt in order to buy gifts. A simple well wishing card is perfectly acceptable. If you do have a budget that covers gift giving then I would go by who the person is and how close you are to them. For example, my niece is getting married and she and I are close. I will spend about $100. My friend's daughter is getting married and I will probably spend about $50 on her. The less I know the person or the less the relationship is, the less I spend. It is not perceivable that all gifts would be equal to all receivers.

I spend $50 usually, but when you include wrapping, a card and a bow, it ends up being $60. If it's a close family member or close friend, I'll jack that number up a lot. If I'm IN the wedding, forget it, no budget.

Then why do you keep on spending so much money then? I mean come on there are other things you can get that are cheaper but good at the same time. How come you're buying everyhting anyway. Put together something you can make something for them. Ok, honestly I love when my friends take time out to write me somethign sweet and make me something. It shows me that they really care. You can walk in a store see something they may like and so on and get it and that's it. There's nothing to it. Yes it's out of meaning and so on and that's all good. But, making it takes more time and love it shows more than buying a gift try it.

If it were me I wouldn't spend that much especially everytime. May be $50.00 but they have to be someone really close to me. I mean come on that's crazy there are other things you need to buy and do. Be true to yourself. Like they are going to tell you come on after all it's for them.

I think you are right on with your choices.
Its nice to be a bit more generous because your husband is the BM, they'll appreciate that. (probably!)

I know, its crazy how much a wedding costs for guests too!
