--NO MATTER WHAT you have seen in the movies---"The Mummy" the old & new which my wife & I enjoyed!
--PLEASE remember a good part of Revelation indeed is in illustrated or symbolic form!

Revelation 1
1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and **signified it by his angel unto his servant John; "

**SIGNIFY:
1.make known by signs, speech, or action.
2. to be a sign of; mean; portend.

--THUS you have the beasts of Rev. 13 that are identified by Daniel 7--as Nations--such as Babylon, Assyria, Greece, Media persia, Rome, Anglo- American dual world power----
including their rulers like Nebucaddnezar, Alexander, Cyrus etc.

--In Rev. 16 just before the mention of God bringing on armaggedon this expression is used to signify the unclean propaganda of demons who influence all the leaders of the world---
AMPLIFIED BIBLE
13"And I saw three loathsome spirits like frogs, [leaping] from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet...(H 14For really they are the spirits of demons that perform signs (wonders, miracles). And they go forth to the rulers and leaders all over the world, to gather them together for war on the great day of God the Almighty."

--FROGS in the Bible were unclean and so would rightly serve to represent an unclean or false message conjured up by the demons.
--HITLERS propaganda machine influenced many to follow along with his hatred of people except his sick nazis!

--SO PLEASE, don't expect Godzilla to start swallowing up New York very soon!

THE LOCUST thing represents an inundating of the world by a world wide message by people taking place, VERY similar in how locusts devastate the land!

Rev. 9:3 These are the plagues of the 7 trumpets, All the last 3 trumpets will be casting out 3 woes. Rev. 8:13 These is those plagues the 2 Jewish prophets will pronounce on israel for signing a false peace treaty with the anti-chirist. After their plagues they brough to Israel in Rev.11:7-12 You now see these 2 prophets killed for 3 1/2 days, & then they will rise again, & be caught up into the air. This plagues is for Israel only. Not The USA, & such like. This is not a worldwide event, only in the middle east.

Don't spend so much time in Revelation. Keep to the gospels and the epistles. They tell you about faith and Christian living.
Revelation was written when Chrisitans were under severe persecution in a symbolic language that Jews at the time were familiar with. Many of the first Christians were Jews, even in Rome. It was to let Christians know that despite severe persecution ultimately Christ would triumph. The writer did not won't Roman authorities to understand it.
The same type of language was in the Book of Daniel when the Hebrews were in Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar. It was to give hope that they would be released from their tribulation.
Now if there is an eschatilogical meaning to Revelation, remember, prophecy has never been understood until after it was fulfilled. We have been living in the "Last Days" since Jesus' resurrection. I believe we have gone through many tribulations in the last 2100 years. We know more about them today because we have a lot of media coverage. Read about the black death that hit Europe. The famine in Ireland that caused them to lose a quarter of their population in about 4 years. The religious wars of the 1600s.
The Gospels are far more important than Revelation.

No.
The book of Revelation was never read publicly in the ancient Church, because they wanted to keep people from creating these kinds of interpretations. Revelation is an Apocalyptic work, and utilizes symbolic imagery that was common in similar works of the day. The Four Horsemen, for example, were a well-known Greek symbol for the four elements; the woman clothed in the sun was an image of Demeter; etc. The book should not be read as a chronological list of end-time events. Such a reading is out of step with both the Church Fathers and the Reformation theologians.

The fourth of the seven trumpets causes the sun and moon to be darkened (Revelation 8:12). The fifth trumpet results in a plague of “demonic locusts” that attack and torture humanity (Revelation 9:1-11).

*shakes her head sadly*
Don't they teach you kids in school anything about literature any more?
Do terms like "allegory" or "metaphor" mean anything at all to you?
I guess folks are so darned worried about whether or not a Christian kid just might utter a tiny prayer or sing a Christian song where their precious children might hear it, that they have totally forgotten the original purpose of school in the first place...to give kids an EDUCATION.

LOL...you mean is it true that Revelations says that? You know it hasn't actually happened, right?

It's after the Fifth Trump sounds that the plague of locusts, human-faced and scorpion-tailed, is unleashed on the faithless. I'd think that would make headlines. Of course, the Apocalypse should be taken symbolically, and its symbols obviously refer to events contemporary with the time it was written, and the fulfillment of its prophecies was expected within the lifetime of its author. That people continue to take it seriously and continue to match up headlines with its obscure texts simply speaks to human credulity and disingenuity.

The bible also talks about giants, a talking burning bush, a talking snake, a talking donkey, 900 year old people, a boat that will hold two of every animal on the planet, all their food, with 8 people to care for it for a long period of time, etc.

Does that sound true to you?

Don't believe it. Its scare tactics from a 2000 year old book written by sheepherders who thought the earth was flat.

"And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those who did not the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days men will seek death, but will not find it., they will long to die, but death will elude them.
(Rev. 9:3-6)
