I just got a violation notice for asking how stupid is it to say Catholics are not Christians. Does anyone else get violation notices for no reason? Does anyone else start violating guidelines intentionally as a result?

railroad. anyone demanding proof that someone has claimed Catholics are not Christians has only been in this forum for about 5 minutes. If you want proof my question got deleted the first time, click my profile and check my questions. Are you one of the deleters?

I think that may be a phase that we go through.
I used to get waves of violation notices for no apparent reason, and became convinced that the violations system is essentially random.
The problem is that the Yahoo people are terribly overworked and cannot possibly keep up with the number of real violations here, let alone with the number of reports. They try to prioritize, and I suspect that they just get a little sloppy after all of the work, and occasionally pull something that shouldn't have been.

It's a bit like getting a violation for saying it's stupid to claim humans are not primates.
The Yahoo-bots hone in on the word "stupid" rather than on whether the content is or not.
Don't take it to heart. Despite Yahoo's claims, there is little evidence that any intelligent life form examines reports before generating violations. There is no point retaliating.

It was probably the word "stupid". It's a little sad that they don't review the entire question before removing it, they nitpick certain words, and if the word is present, they consider the entire question to be offensive. One time I tried posting a question several times that contained the phrase "hardcore Christian". I could not figure out why it would not post it, since it was not offensive in any way. It took me awhile to realize it was because I chose the word "hardcore". It's kind of silly.

Something similar happened to me in a political thread. I suspect that what happens is that some pinhead flags your response and that Yahoo! -- rather than devoting any resources to the process -- simply takes the word of whomever finks on you.
I tried pushing back to customer service on mine, but never got anything other than a canned response back directing me to the TOS and Guidelines links. I know what the dang guidelines say -- I just don't believe I violated them!

final week for asking for prayers--it became right into a query. I blocked the only guy or woman who stated that they concept it became right into a contravention and had different shoppers assure me that it became into no longer. I examine over the section approximately solicitation which became into of course framed to rule out people who're merchandising some thing and appealed and became into denied. I spoke of that i had no longer income purpose. in simple terms FYI i could in no way have reported everybody for asking a query approximately Darwinism or athieism, or the different team. I even have given ideal answer to a wiccan on one in each and every of my questions and a Muslim, becuase they of course had the ideal answer. I help the the ideal option of everybody right here to ask a deferential question from thier attitude. i'm saddened to envision what others right here have been reported for it sort of feels propose lively. i presumed with the recent warnings approximately reporting too plenty or flippantly human beings ought to get in difficulty and it may stop a number of this. yet apparently no longer.

I got a violation notice for less, I'm suprise I don't get more violation notices, the ones that get pulled are usually the least offensive things that I say.

Violation notices are sent after yahoo answers is alerted by a user. hateful selfish users I might add...
I got one for something very simple and nowhere offensive in the guidelines. You can fight it but you're probably wasting your time.

It's the word stupid. Even generic assaults violate the standards and practises.

yeah, join the club. some people don't like the idea of free thought being spread. look on the bright side. 2000 years ago your head would be on a stick. today, you just get a violation notice. let it slide.

Just to add a little thought to this forum, there are certain individuals who cannot stand criticism of their faith. They do what they will, and if you highlight it in negativity; they send a violation notice to the machine and it adds them up and POP, your e-mail is gone.
Been there.......
