I haven't filed my taxes in the last three years and this year I decided to file them along with the previous work year, but I need to know is there another way to file the state part of it for the preveous years without using a professional. I have already filed the federals and the state for the last year, but I have three more to go.

If you live in a community that has a unversity they have a free law clinic available that will help get things straighten out for you for no fee. They can get all the forms and will even speak with a irs person on your behalf if you like. These students love to do this. Some specialize in taxes so tell them it is your taxes. Every thing is very confidential. I hope this helps you. I had identity theft which the irs wanted me to pay ten grand in penalties. I ended up getting 1300.00 in interest and all my taxes back!!!

Get the forms for the prior years and get them filed ASAP! This is a problem that won't go away. Taxes are not that scary - just follow the instruction and fill in the numbers.

Use a calculate, not your head for the math. That's where some people mess up - they mess up on the math.

Go to the website for your state department of revenue. You can download all the forms and instructions there. Fill each one out, mail them in. If you owe money, of course pay that.

My advice is to let the state department of revenue figure any penalties owed and bill you for that. Then you pay that after they figure it.

Mail each year separately.

You can probably download the forms from your state website.
