if you do not follow then do you lead or do you sit idle?

And you have made your own way, all by yourself.

Blazed your own path based on your path of superior enlightenment.

You have never attended School, or followed your parents rules. You don't obey laws of society, and thumb your nose at law enforcement. You drive on the wrong side of the road, and roam during the day because you don't have a job because they also have rules.

That also means no money and no checking account because those have rules that you would have to follow.

Sounds like a fun life to me.

Or are you actually a sheep in hiding?

Peace!

Humbug. Everybody has to follow something be it religion or other. It's better to follow something that's constructive than destructive. Following, or being committed to a hedonistic life style is very nice but has enormous pitfalls. Religion is much safer and can bring happiness, help you cope and provide support through life's many ups and downs, and beyond.

So you mean the next time I need to, well, you know.. Oh, a better example is feeling hungry... Yeah, so next time I feel hungry, I shouldn't just go and get something to eat because I'd just be following the urge.
(Sorry about the first bit - too many Dr. Peppers...).

I'd much rather stand for something and be wrong than stand for nothing and be right.

Your question implies that it is not good to have direction in ones life, it is not good to have purpose. I would have to disagree.
