Cross? Everywhere? only outside of churches. Any - I explain how some people believe in ancient myths. The schools do all they can to propagandize them into believing - however they come form a good atheist home.

My kids once attended church (it was that introduce them to all religions thing) so they understand the meaning behind it and the society that we live in. It doesn't bother them at all.
I've taught my kids to be respectful of all beliefs, so they aren't threatened or upset by crosses, the words "In God We Trust, and Under God." They've played dreidle with their friends and they like potato latkes.
They're pretty accepting of everyone. It's a non-issue in my home.

I have no children yet, but I could tell any kids I might have what the cross symbolizes, for I am the son of a preacher's daughter. I would also tell them about the contradictions and infantile science in the Bible.

I would tell them that the world is full of people that believe some crazy things, and that if they want to believe something crazy, to make sure it makes sense to them first so they don't go around quoting scripture in a ridiculous manner without really making any sense.

My kids would know the significance of all the religious symbols. I would encourage them to read the Bible and the scripture of other religions and to learn the context they were written in.

I would say that a large number of people wander around wearing a symbol of the thing that their god was brutally murdered on.
Pretty messed up, if you ask me.

I would tell them that there are people out there that believe in some crazy, illogical stuff that is very harmful and that is how you identify those people that hold that dangerous belief system.

Tell her that we live in a country where most people believe God sent his son who was also himself to be sacrificed on a cross to himself...and these people like to put crosses up to remind themselves...
