I live in stuart florida about an hour east of lake okeechobee. Where can i find a good spot to catch decent sized catfish (freshwater mind you) that is close by? I fish salt all the time i just want to change things up a little bit.

I just want to go fishing back in florida! HEY pahokee is good for crappie or was!Back in the 90's that is!

I live but 30 minutes up the road from you. I have a few cats in the lake out back here but no real size to them . Its full of bass though. I am askin a few other people because I like catfishing as well .If I find more out I will post it here

I heard the locks over by okechobee have some nce cats in them. Also try local parks with ponds most have stocked channel cat in them

I live in Vero and the Ft. Drum marsh is about 30 min. west from me out on SR 60. They have plenty of catfish out there from your channel cats to armored catfish and some other exotics, but if you catch some of the armored cats and exotics make sure you kill them before you throw them back, they're fun to catch but they don't belong here and they're a devastation to the eco-system.

Your usual hardhead catfish is trash and not fit to be eaten. We cooked some as quickly as for the cats or maybe they wouldnt consume it. some human beings say that the Gafftopsail catfish are fit to be eaten, yet i attempted one chunk and it completely sucked. in case you elect for to consume catfish, keep on with the freshwater ones.

there are so many fresh water areas go to some local bait shops a pick the owners brain chances are he will lead you to some good spots

I have somefriends that fish over at pahokee area for channel cats or at least they tell me that!
