Or, rather, they give you answers that just look absolutely stupid, or, better yet, they make personal assumptions abuot you, and non-beleivers as a whole?
For instance- there are logical, common-sense explanations the life changes that can occur after you 'accept jesus ect'.. It has been proven that a little FAITH in something non-existant can help you wonders- placebo pills, anyone?
Or resorting to insults of intelligence((these are bandied from both sides, however- chrisitans and atheists are guilty of this, lol)) simply becuase they cannot easily answer((or answer it at all))a question, or respond to a statement that pokes holes OR points OUT the holes in their reasoning..
/c/ in details, of course- I am almost a novel-writer for my questions/answers

I have, however rarely, gotten a few good answers from christians, though for the most part, they act like angry, selfish, and, like it or not, -frightened- little sheep when something comes up that they don't like, simply becuase it cannot easily be wormed away with a line from the bible..
Also, using the bible to answer an atheists' questions, unless they are actually asking FOR help about thre bible or god's word, just kinda looks stupid...
As I often say- a bible is a book, and only that- written by human hands in a human tongue, regardless of what words are within, so any argument offered from that book is merely void in proving it's validity, outside of the few occurences where it can be corroborated(partially)) with history in whole..
Why can't a christian simply give the answer of, 'i don't know/i cant explain that/ instead of shooting off with smart-alecked'my god amkes me beter than you' answers that end in my and my fellow atheists' choice snad reasonings' being stupid?

I notice they are already pointing a finger at the athiests and using such to justify their own actions.
If they want to be so like the athiests then why don't they -become- athiests?
Anyway...
The problem is that all "information" needs an initial frame of reference to which it can be compared to judge its validity. Christians are generally that way because someone... be it their parents (most likely) or peers.... taught them to use the bible as that initial frame of reference. They cannot judge anything in the bible as wrong because they use it as their axiomatic choice for the definition of "right"... If a christian saw a green blade of grass and the bible said it was purple... they would determine that their eyes were deceiving them and the grass was actually purple.
And seriously here... trying to uproot and change a person's initial frame of reference is nigh on impossible... as it essentially is a request for them to completely reboot and deny everything they ever thought they knew.
The fact remains that religion and reason don't go together.... so you cannot honestly expect a religious person to be reasonable for any length of time... and you're lucky if you even get a shred of reason out of them.

Honestly as Christian I have noticed a tendency to take a "holier than thou art" approach taken by other Christians, especially in a forum setting. The reasoning for this is two fold. The first being many times, this one including, an athesist question tends to seem slanted if not blantantly attacking the Christian community. Granted by now you'd figure an athesist question on a forum will be an attack, and yet it gets the community as a large angry. It would be the equilavant for me calling you attacking everything you believe in, for a Christian to equalant religion to a placabo pill is a slap in the face, and honestly you know that. You expect a bunch of angry Christians to come in and here and verbally attack you and turn the board into a "no your stupid" agruement instead of an intelligent discussion. When you say "without using the bible, explain this." we cant give a straight answer thats not meing saying to an athesist to discuss evolutionwithout using any of Darwin or Darwinst based theory, or explaining Newton's law of gravity and explain it as if your talking to someone in the void of space who has never felt gravity and you cant use the name Newton, the word gravity, the idea of pull, etc.
You just cant. To answer a question while being disallowed to use your evidence to support your answer is truely difficult, if not aggrovating, frustrating and tends to make anyone angry.
Granted there are questions that sometimed to not even come down to definative answers, I have personally sat for hours with other students having a scholarly discussion on different theological issues and agreed to disagree.
And then take wholes in scientific theory, such as the law that matter can not be created or destroyed, and yet obviously the world had to be created at some point, and before that the debree that floated aimlessly in the void of space had to come from somewhere. Then theres biology that says that one cell can not become another, you can not turn a skin cell into a blood cell, or vice versa, then how is new life born, in theory all it would be is a big lump of mass, never able to mature.
To a mature question regarding evolution, take the eye, how did that evolve. It doesnt make sense for any creature to evolve it, because evolution takes generations to refine and the eye, without all its parts is useless.
Thats where faith comes in, and even if you don't want to accept it you have blind faith in certain things too, you'd know that jumping off a building only has one possible outcome, but can you see gravity? No, but you have been taught about Newton and his laws and have seen the effects of gravity so you believe in it, same goes for a Christian and his/her faith. It is something that is felt strongly about and when its attacked, and they are forced to answer a question that is designed to put them entrap them they tend to get angry.

Because a True Christian does Know, especially one that has been serving God for 37 yr. Yes that is me, Now what questions do you want answers to, I am not one bit afraid in facing anyone on Christiananity, & you said that the bible is a man made book & a book of fiction, Show me one place it is fiction, as far as insulting someone's intelligence, First that person has to have some intelligence, & Myself as a Christian, Have not one time back down from an athiests, Or whatever other religion you may think of. After 37 yrs. as a Christian, I see no holes punched in my response. Now you or any one of your so called Friends , rather atheists, Or whatever, shoot the question at me, & see if I run. Because you don't specified what kind of questions you want to ask, Hey Come back, you have not ask your question yet.

There are many things about religion that aren't logical or easily explained. You expect people to defend themselves against your accusations by having the answers to obscure questions. Most Christians aren't bible or history students. They're not interested in proving something which they already know.
You mention, for example, placebo pills as proof that we can easily be swayed into believing. But do you ever look at it from a Christian's point of view? I speak As a Christian, but I am sure it applies to all religions.
Do you ever think - well, everything isn't black and white. Could this be true?
I went through a very religious phase in my life. My baby son was in a swing. Suddenly I was moved across the room,my arm was held out and the hook holding the swing snapped, falling into my outrstretched hand. It would have killed my son.
Now I know this happened. You will say it didn't, or I'm lying, or mistaken, or that I picked up vibes from the stressed metal. But I know I'm telling the truth and that the world isn't black and white. Open your mind and learn.

Overgeneralizations, arrogance and supposed knowledge - as a fellow writer, don't you see the irony? You are expressing the same ideas in your ranting that you claim we express.
Sure, many "Christians" are that way. But many are not. A forum like this is hardly the place to have a back and forth discussion. You can't expect a plethora of "wow" answers. You also can't expect a population, made up primarily of teenagers (and younger), to give you mind-blowing responses.
If you really want to talk about why there is evidence for a creator, then we can dialogue in another forum. I won't write pages and pages of stuff here (and I can't! I am doing this in between work).
I do suggest one thing - you trash the Bible as a mere document. Perhaps if you had an open mind about it, and maybe even read it, you would understand that it is the most appropriate document to discuss when we're talking about Christianity.

What is the difference in answering from the bible or from another book, if you believe that it's written by human beings? Why is it that it looks stupid to quote from the bible, but when you quote from a worldly philosopher people give a mighty cheer? The answer is in the bible, but I'll let you find it. My point is you must believe that humanity is stupid because the best selling book by far for millenia has been the bible, and it's quoted in a positive light by those whom the world holds in high regard.

If that is what you are worried about. Then why keep trolling?Science has come up with some good works. But still has faults. If they are correct in their assumptions. Then answer me this. Two little questions.Where did the original matter come from in the big bang?Matter can not be destroyed. The universe expands. And contracts. But where did the original matter come from?Number two, they say chemicals came together to form amino acids.Which in turn formed single cell life forms.Which in turn to simple life. What is the probability of that happening? An you can't give the usual responce. It just happened. That is a sign of a non-thinker.I would love to know. But I know you won't come up with an answer. You have your faith.I have mine.

"Read my post, smartasses..

1. Burrying a comment about Atheists in the middle of your hate speech doesn't excuse your post.
2. Resorting to name calling doesn't help your cause. It hurts it.
3. We all know that it doestn't matter what we say, you're only going to pick the answer that bashed Christianity. I can answer with "eggplant" for all you care about my opinion.

and athiests don't insult others intelligence, make false arguments, at times look absolutely stupid, play word games?
That is just the sign of a weak intellect and it is rampant on both sides of the diety fence.
Edit: If I don't know or I can't explain I simply don't answer the question (on here, in real life if asked a direct question I would say I don't know or if I had an opinion I woul say my opinion is, or I think but I have no proof.) That is why there are millions of questions on Yahoo Answers R&S I have not answered. I have never seen an athiest on Yahoo answers say I don't know either. (but I have seen many in real life do so.)
That and well some of the questions are just stupid is another reason I might not answer.
Edit: If you would quit adding to it, many of us were typing while you were adding and did not see the additional information.
Way to make yourself look superior. read the length of post time and add typing time then determine if they read the entire thing or if it was even there for them to read.
Get a grip, the question is starting to run into that rampant area you are complaining about.

No word games, no technicalities. Simple question.
1. Which of the following is true?
The universe,
A. Always existed
B. Popped into existence from nothing
C. Was created by a supernatural creator
Please answer and provide your rationale for your answer.
I am a Christian rationalist of the order of Augustine and Calvin. My rational system does not exalt the human mind as autonomous; instead, it affirms Biblical revelation as axiomatic. Divine revelation of Holy Scripture is a rational revelation. This revelation is internally self-consistent, non-contradictory, and non-paradoxical. A rational Christian reasons from revelation, not to revelation or apart from revelation. MY Christian faith is intellectually and logically defensible. What about your belief?
