G'day,

With so many conflicting answers that you got, I summarise the 2 ways to do this and answer your questions:
1. Apply directly thru Australian High Commissions/Embassy nearest to where you live to choose what category of immigration that you want to be. This is the cheaper way but you will need to understand all the requirements and preparations by yourself. A bit difficult if your English is not very good.
2. Apply thru immigration agency. They can make a preliminary assessment of your chance to emigrate to Australia. If you have enough point, then they will help you to prepare the documents and what to do/say during the interview. This of course come at a cost, but for some ppl it is money well spent.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your application and welcome to Australia :)

I am sorry to help to answer your questions. You need to answer some more.

In regarding to the first, do you want to work there? Or are you a self funded retiree? As Australia uses a point system, the more point the better your chance you will be application will be accepted.

In regarding to your second question if they are over 18 then by Australian Law they are Adults, so if they are wanting to Study or work then they would have to apply for an appropriate visa just like you would.

In regarding to the last question this will have an impact on your application, but this will need to talk to someone with in the Department of Immigration and Citizenship of Australia.

1. The age limit for migration is 45.
2. Children under 21 may be included in your application without affecting your chance of acceptance.
3. Minor criminal convictions more than ten years ago will probably not affect your chance of acceptance.

It is a very lengthy process to move to Australia. I know of some sites where you can do online assessments to see if you are eligible to move there.

Why don't you use the one on http://www.visabureau.com. That is quite useful.

Good Luck!
