none if everything is as simple as your question. Other factors might bring charges such as if you're a convicted felon and carrying illegally.

Shoot him with your gun that you took the time to learn how to use . This will be the same gun that you cannot posses or carry or use. Since this scenario will never happen with the average citizen, it is only for giggles and shts. Retired Police, Security and Armed forces can carry a gun in all 50 States of the US now. Just hope one of those fellas or gals are around when it happens.
As far as charges, well I believe it would be worse on me if I did nothing than if I got charged for killing a killer. If I wanted to do nothing, then why would I ever qualify to carry a firearm after retirement?
Don't worry about charges, defend yourself and innocent people first. Then you did the right, just, human, thing.

You just happen to be illegally carrying a gun, and in the vicinity of a person on a killing rampage, and then you kill him, and save the day. #1, No super hero status. #2, I think the Police should be talking to you. You've already set up an interesting profile.

Despite the theory that you are innocent until proven guilty you had better be prepared to prove that your life was in eminent danger and no other act would have saved you.

None. Well maybe discharging a firearm in public if the DA in your area was a dick If you are in fear for your life, your actions would be justified. I would just make sure he didn't get up once he went down.................
