depends on size of mole- birthmarks are extremely hard to remove
both will require sutures
tissue sent to pathology for testing
total cost including the MD service- roughly $ 700-> $1000

Well, I had this done 10 times! It usually depends on the mole/birthmark size, location, etc. But I had moles removed that were the size of a pencil eraser from my neck, chest and back and they were about $300 a piece. WAY worth it! So most places probably charge around $300-500 a mole. Its worth it though. The ones removed from my back did leave a small scar, but nothing I cared about. The ones on my neck and chest did not leave a scar.

For various reasons, surgeons are doing fewer procedures in their offices, and more in the hospital out-patient departments. This tends to drive up the costs. Most hospitals have financial counselors who can assist you with cost estimations and payment plans.

Then you need to discuss the surgeon's fee with him or his office manager.
