You are probably right in it being ISMAIL aX.
I did not say I was looking to blame anyone. I was asking a legitimate question.

Noone is trying to link Islam and why this guy killed people. You are denying something out of assuming I'm accusing. I asked because the ISMAIL resembles the name Ishmael. The X reminded me of Malcolm X. I now know it was AX. But, I am still wondering if it is Islamic. The very action seems like a personal Jihad and the Ismail Ax still appears Islamic. Is that saying Islam is the cause? No.

Ismail Ax possibly refers to the story of Abraham who was prepared to sacrifice his son Ismail with an axe,it certainly sounds Islamic.

I looked into that yesterday. Upon doing a web search, I came up with mostly mathematical web sites. Apparently, some mathematician named Ismail came up an an "ax" (some sort of formula) that I don't understand at all. I'm not gifted in math, so it was incomprehensible to me.

I know this man was an English major, but was he taking any math classes? If so, it may be a reference to something that came up in class that he wanted to remember.
