Sounds like time together is the best gift! Either a coupon for dinner out later on or a all purpose coupon for if he needs work done around the pond or a day trip together? Add to that a well written letter on bday card expressing appreciation and love?

at 60, my dad had everything he wanted and needed. he really didn't want us spending money on him so i would offer services. one year we washed his motorhome. another time i cleaned out the race car trailer and other times we did the yard work. he loved the fact that he didn't have to deal with those big jobs that were hanging over his head.
