Try "WD40". It's the product with 1001 uses. I'm a general contractor and am always getting foreighn substances on my hands that practically nothing will remove. I have used it on oil-based paints, roof tar, and a variety of other materials with good results. It is not toxic to your skin and the smell will usually disappear after a short while. I've also found it to work very well to remove road debri and pine sap from your car finnish.

I am not quite clear why this is a problem. The skin is constantly renewing itself and outer layer constantly falls away so anything like paint will come away in a matter of hours. If he wants to do it quicker then that is tricky as anything that will break down oil based paint is likely to damage the skin. However I would suggest some amyl acetate or better still butile acetate which is more effective than white spirit but of course will also remover the natural oil from the skin so some sort of skin cream would be good to use after

Well
I'm black and had hyperpigmentation of my skin. This problem was really affecting my life. I tried everything, my body just not responded to drugs and creams. Finally I found a good natural solution on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=566

not sure about removal, but a top tip is to apply some handcream before the job, so that the paint cant get under the nails

My Dad is a sand blaster and painter for the Union, and I know that he uses Vaseline. He puts it onto his hands, and rubs it in really good, let it set for a few minutes, and then the paint should rub off easily. Also, there is another benefit of doing this. It softens your hands!

Rubbing olive oil on the skin followed by normal soap always works for me, and is much gentler than turps!
