If you look at stats for teen/underage sex and pre-marital sex it seems that only a tiny minority of the young are socially conservative.

In 50 years time will the promiscuity and failed marriages of, for instance, the Hollywood libs be the norm for the rest of society?

Radical lifetime appointed judges who were appointed by liberal leaders of years ago make them very strong.

The problem with "social conservatism" is that is was, and is, totally unrealistic. The "teen/underage sex and premarital sex" you mention has always been there, and will always be there. We just hear about it more now. But trust me, it happened in the 1900s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, even during the reign of St. Reagan in the 80s. That's not going to change.
As far as the divorce rate, the have been bad marriages all along, but it wasn't until divorce became easier to come by (Meaning: religion was thrown out of the process) that people could escape from flawed, abusive or unfaithful marriages. Sociologists and psychologists (i.e., REAL scientists) are beginning to question whether human beings are even capable of monogamy.

Here's the truth as I see it: The so-called "values" of social conservatism reflect the desire to "get back" to an American society that never existed in the first place: An ideal land of stay-at-home moms, dads that never got laid off, never got drunk, didn't fool around and never hit their wives, church-centered families, and kids that never got into trouble, didn't have sexual relationships and really never grew up. Given the nature of people, no society ever will be that ideal. The 50s TV families are fantasies. If there was ever a family on earth with that little real trouble, I'd like to meet them.

Absolutely not. It is on the rise. People are seeing that the failed liberal agenda, is just that failed. The Hollywood libs are seeing what they are and stand for by the outrageous remarks being made by a few of them. And to that end, most of them are getting pretty disgusted by it. George Cloony making fun Charlton Heston's Alzheimer's disease. Simply because he is a conservative. And Rosie O'Donnell, well, what can any liberal say to back her up? The vicious attacks on Bush by these people are even being seen by liberals as unwarranted and evil. The constant name calling such as "homophobe", again unwarranted, because even liberals can see that the conservatives are some of the most tolerant of all. This will be shown to be true, when Billary Clinton is beaten out in the next election in a landslide. No matter who the republican candidate is.

Yes and the sooner the better. Just read these political harangues from them, every one a Republican naturally. The social conservatives are in reality political FASCISTS who are also sex-hating prudes (and flops too I should add) who like all fascist authoritarians want to impose their values on everyone in this huge country through the criminal law. Except that every year more and more of majority reject their views. Nobody is forcing them into any activities they disapprove of--it is they who are trying, like the mini-Hitlers they are, to force everyone else into their ******** attitudes.

Or will the promiscuity and failed marriages of, for instance, the 2008 Republican candidates for President be the norm?

Of course if they're not happy with the current candidates, the social conservatives could appeal to tradition and stick with the promiscuity (well, rape, actually) and failed marriages of the earlier conservative hero Ronald Reagan.

Paul S makes a good point -- it's not just liberal headline-makers who collect ex-spouses.

And the answers that teenagers give to pollsters are not necessarily indicative of anything (do YOU trust the little perishers? I don't). Teenagers experiment with everything, including sex; but they won't be teenagers for long.
