My wife of 13 years just found out she has HPV. She had a pap test a year ago and it showed negitive. She had another a week ago and it showed positive. I have not been with anyone else in 13 years, is she, or has she recentaly cheated? I know this is sexualy transmitted. She is blaming me and telling me I must have given it to her, but like I said I havent been with anyone else. Whats up?

There are other reasons to get HPV, it's not JUST a sexually transmitted disease. You both need to study up on it. I've tested positive for it before and knew I didn't get it from any partners (at the time, I hadn't been with anyone in months). Talk to your doctor and get the true information about this, don't just assume she cheated.

she was told she had hpv or abnormal/pre-cancerous cells? I had abnormal/atypical/precancerous cells on my pap one year, the dr had me go back 6months later and there wasn't anything. If it is hpv, like everyone else has said it can be asymptomatic for many years. That is why it is so dangerous to women. hpv can cause cervical cancer, so all women need to check on getting the hpv vaccine. It's new and it can help prevent cancer.

HPV can lie dormant for long time spans. Most women don't even know they have it. She could've contracted it long before she met you. Go online and do some research on it and I believe it'll put your mind to ease.

there is no way to find the source of hpv it is not traceable by anymeans it can lay dormant for years and its nearly impossible to catch in a male unless they have a warts outbreak

I would, if I were you.... Go get tested yourself.
You could have them, and have had them all along, and they finally got the area in which she had them on pap.
Go together and investigate together.
