Cheddar Broccoli Ramen

Broccoli Ramen is a quick meal to prepare, but you don't have to feel guilty when serving it. "It has all four food groups in it and that is good enough for me," Haley Merrill says.

1 package chicken ramen noodles, plus 1/2 of seasoning packet

1 cup broccoli, fresh or frozen, cut up

1 can chicken pieces

1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded

Cook noodles and drain. Steam broccoli. Add chicken. Mix together with 1/2 seasoning packet. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve over noodles. Top with Cheddar cheese while still hot.

Lo Mien Ramen

1 tablespoon oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 package chicken ramen noodles, including 1/2 of seasoning packet

1 pound chicken breast strips

1/2 cup onions, sliced

1/2 cup green peppers, chopped

1/4 cup carrots, chopped

In skillet or wok, mix oil, soy sauce and 1/2 seasoning packet. Add chicken and brown. Cook noodles and drain. Add vegetables to chicken; cook until tender. Add noodles and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

1) Put about 1/2 to 3/4 the water the directions call for (I like mine on the dry side).
2) Add a cube of bouillon per package (no, not the seasoning pack that comes with the ramen because it usually contains MSG [monosodium glutimate] and MSG is nasty stuff).
3) Add some frozen/raw/canned veggies.
4) Boil
5) Crack open and add an egg or two or three (without the shells, natch) and/or some chunks of pre-cooked meat.
7) Toss in the noodles and let cook or not cook for three minutes or so.
8) Maybe even throw some cheese in there.
9) Enjoy.
10) If somehow you messed up, throw the whole thing away and order out for pizza.

Life doesn't get any better.

The Easiest Stir Fry

You will need...
1 pkg ramen noodles
1 cup cooked meat cubed (leftover chicken, beef, whatever)
1 cup frozen veggies
Soya Sauce
Hot sauce, black pepper

Boil water, cook noodles and add frozen veggies, at last minute add meat. Drain water and add ramen flavor packet and season with soy sauce and pepper. Great spicy noodle dish!

I lived off this for a year when I first move out, it was a great way to stretch meat and veggies and not have to eat straight carbs.

I love the soup still in soup form the best so what I like to do is make the soup (chicken flavor) as usual, but then when the noodles are about done, I whisk in an egg. When it is cooked, I then add a some mint leaf and put green onion on top. Once it has cooled a little, its yummy! It is basically like egg drop soup with noodles in it.

First off...the correct name is "Ramen" noodles. Google "Ramen Noodles" and you'll come up with a ton of ideas. Happy eating.

Try this recipe:

Kicked Up Jerky Ramen

Ingredients:
1 package Chicken-flavored Ramen noodles
2 tblspn Carribean Jerk Seasoning (I sometimes use more, it all depends)

Boil 2 cups of water. Add noodle mix. Slowly add seasoning as noodles boil -- only add 1 tblspn before you add the chicken seasoning.

After three minutes (may vary, depending on how al dente you like your Ramen), turn off the heat. Add chicken seasoning packet and the rest of the jerk seasoning. Stir and eat.

Oriental Beef and Noodles
1 16-oz pkg frozen loose-pack broccoli stir-fry vegetables (broccoli, carrot, onion, red pepper, celery, water chestnuts, mushrooms)
2 pounds beef stew meat
1 12-ounce bottle sesame-ginger stir-fry sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
1 3-ounce package ramen noodles, broken

Place frozen vegetables in a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker. Top with meat. In a medium bowl combine stir-fry sauce, water, and, if desired, crushed red pepper. Pour over meat and vegetables in cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 9 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4-1/2 to 5 hours. Discard spice packet from ramen noodles. Stir noodles into meat mixture in slow cooker. Cover and let stand 10 minutes. Stir before serving.

boil in half the recommended water, break in 1-2 eggs and stir till scrambled like then add 2 slices of cheese. Yummy. Take ramen noodles in the package and crush them. Crush the chips in a small personal size bag of chips, open the bag of chips and add the noodles and seasoning packet, mix up. Add half bag of hot water and combine in the bag. Fold top of bag over and allow to sit 5 min. Makes 1 Jail-house burrito. Variations: chopped pickle, cheeze-whiz, lunch meat..etc...
