How quickly after having sex with someone can the herpes sores appear? I had sex with someone less than 24 hours ago and he shaves his stomach etc. and i noticed this moring that hte inside of my thighs are bright red and bumpy. i am not sure if its jsut irritation fromt eh stubble on his stomach or herpes. there are no open sores, not fluid , puss etc just red bumps. i also jsut shaved my legs as well so i wasnt sure if it was a combo of both his stomach and my just shaving.

they are not painful at all just a bit itchy

You'll know if you have genital herpes - trust me. It has a very distinctive pain to it.
I contracted genital herpes 6 years ago. I had my first outbreak about a week after I had sex with a guy who had it (he didn't tell me he had the virus). I was in SO much pain during my first outbreak. I starting bawling when the doctor was examining me because it hurt SO bad. I had about 10 sores or so on my genital area. They were extremely painful. I also felt very fatigued and had "flu like" symptoms. My doctor prescribed me 2 different anti-viral medications, one antiviral cream, and Vicodin for my pain. I could hardly walk or sit down, and I missed two days of school and work.
It may just be irritation from the constant rubbing back and forth during sex. But, if you are really concerned, get tested! It's just a simple blood test. Good luck to you!

Are the bumps painful? If so, I recommend an appointment with a doctor, to be safe.
If they are simple bumps, I recommend giving them a day or two to see if they stay. Should they go away without complaint, it's doubtful you have a problem.
