I've heard that a passport may now be needed for domestic flights. Does anybody know if this is true? I'm travelling from Hartford to Las Vegas in July and don't have a passport.

I've heard it from co-workers and my girlfriend believes it will take effect June 1st. Any validity to this?

No. You need some sort of ID, it doesn't have to be a passport. It can be a drivers license or a state id.

This is absolutely not true. The only time you need a passport now is when you leave the U.S. and want to come back. Domestic flights are still only an ID required to get through security.
