Even if they believe it, why are they so obsessed - what do they have to gain?

Gotta, I understand what you're saying, but could you not say the same for the drugs companies who make millions from treating people. I'm just throwing ideas out there, but illness is BIG business.

Saria, I'll take your word for it. I'm sure that AIDS exists, but we are probably not being told the full truth about it.

It MUST have affected them in some way because they are so militant. I think what they're doing is evil. It could be the survivor's guilt thing.

Prof Sam, pk_dag (aka Paul King), and some other users came here from the MSN Dissident Action group awhile ago to try and "educate" people that HIV does not exist, deny any solid link between HIV and AIDS, and that the virus has never been isolated. They spam the boards with the same information over and over again, posting the same false things whenever they see a question that even passively mentions HIV. Certain users believe condoms are dangerous and cause cancer, and they post this on any question that mentions condoms.
It angers my greatly that they spread this disinformation to the young people who come here for help, rather than taking this issue up with the scientific community.
You may also have noticed that they have united, and are giving people who put real information thumbs downs, giving each other thumbs up, and voting for each other. This way, they get to claim they are in the majority here.
I have personally been to their boards, seen their videos, read their articles, and I must say, they have very little evidence. I must say they are extremely aggressive and very insulting to any one who refutes them. I have asked a couple what their motive is, and it is simply to spread the "truth" and "educate" the people here. I've read on their forums that a few in particular believe that AIDS was created so the pharmeceudical companies would make cash. Maybe the pharmeceudical companies aren't doing enough to fight HIV, but the disease sure is real.
Until Y!A takes action against them, the most we can do is band together ourselves, vote for each other, and report them when they post dangerous false information and advice.
Additional Details: I should have noted that some of them are HIV positive. Some have had bad reactions to medicine or been ostricized because they have it, and now try to encourage people not to seek help because of thier prior expiriences. Some just think its a hoax.

There are so-called experts who put information online saying that there is no proof that HIV does not progress to AIDS.
One such individual is actually a professor or former professor at a university. He gets paid for his opinion. And don't forget the "what they don't want you to know" book guy. He makes tons of money.
When people like this, who obviously have their own agenda-get publicity-it sounds as though it's real information.
They are trying to dis-prove or muddy the waters of already established research and lots of information provided by people living with HIV/AIDS as well as people who are caring for them.
Go figure.
