but i like the JW and the Mormon's answers the best!

It provides purpose, direction and consistency to my life. It is like a road map to happiness and success and a feeling of accomplishment. It also provide as sense of security.

What has helped my most is my ability to stop believing in fairies and sky-gods, as my parents indoctrinated me to do.
