I've done the chocolate covered strawberries, veggie trays and cakes and cookies. Looking for something else and would like to keep it weight friendly.

Fruits like grapes or strawberries with a small assortment of cheese and crackers. Very easy, no fuss. It's not like a dinner party after all.

Have you done the veggies trays with hummus dips? And OO below has a great idea in using Pita Chips!!!!

You could make up a few different types of salads, like a big lettuce one, a pasta one using veggie pasta, you can keep them low cal.

Cheese and whole wheat crackers, use cheeses that are unique and new to you.

Hmmm --- you're not leaving many party-friendly choices --- what is healthy that isn't fruit and veggies and isn't too messy to eat while handling books?

Sliced fresh apples, pears, peaches with thin slices of cheese
Baked tostitos and some good salsa
olives
Water crackers with a bit of cream cheese and a dab of jam
sushi
toast squares and caponata (italian relish)
pita wedges and hummus
liquorice allsorts

Hope this helps

A tray of sliced carrots, celery and other vegetables along with selected dips is a good one.

A variety of cheeses along with both green and red grapes is also a nice touch. I would choose some aged cheddar, swiss, monterrey jack, emmental, and other firm cheeses that can be cut into cubes for snacking.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend, you can also do a tray of good quality meats, such as mortadella, prosciutto, and smoked turkey. Just roll these meats into tubes and place on a tray with a bunch of tooth picks in the middle.

YOu can get a meat plate made up at local grocers from the meat department. This could be meats and cheese and you buy crackers.

IT is also the time of year to warm up your barbeque skills. Maybe you could buy some veggies and some chicken and or steak and make kababs.

Anyways just a couple of ideas, hope it is a sucess, and good luck!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last couple years, I'm sure you've heard of the Paleo Diet. Read here https://tr.im/paleocookbooks
I hate to even call it a diet, because it's really just the real way that humans have eaten for almost 1.9 Million years, as opposed to the modern-day processed food diet full of grains, sugars, and processed vegetable oils.

Cut up fresh fruit and to make a dipping sauce add about 2 tbs honey to 2 cups sour cream and add a dash or two of nutmeg. You can change the amounts to taste. With a few bowls of shelled nuts you should have it! Hope you like! I got the sauce recipe from Tan Tara at Lake of the Ozarks when I was on my honeymoon years ago!

You can make a healthy platter with carrot sticks, celery sticks, cottage cheese or yoghurt with FRESH chives or parsley as a dip, mango, pawpaw or melon pieces - that sort of thing.

A nice, big tomato salad from 8 or 9 types and colors of tomato, diced with herbs and some olive oil goes nicely on crackers.

Sweet chilli sauce and some pita bread with eggplant and tzatziki dips and maybe some dolmadakia (vine leaves stuffed with rice and spices - yum!) for a bit of spice.
