You should always tell a potential partner of your STD status PRIOR to sexual activity. They have the right to make the choice to continue the relationship thus putting themselves at risk for catching the virus.

I have had several talks about my status (HPV) in the recent past and I have had a positive reaction every time.

I suggest staying calm. Discussing with him in a plain and matter of fact way. There is treatment options for herpes now that will supress outbreaks and decrease the days of asymptomic shedding. You should talk to your doctor about these options.

Oh my gosh, HERPERS? Yes, herpers is fatal. Herpes is just annoying.

Yes!!!! It is only when people try to keep this stuff a secret does it pass and destroy relationships. IF you are responsible you can give him advice and take protective measures so that he does not get it also.Trying to keep something so important from him is a terrible thing. Honesty is always the best policy.
