the parents are not tame, so touching and moistening them is out of question. any other ideas, how warm should be the water used for moistening? any ideas would be great help. thank you

thanks for the replies :-), the parents sit on eggs but they dont moisten the eggs, they take bath sometimes but dont sit on the eggs directly after their bath :-(.

I think if the birds are siting on the eggs then there is probably no need to moisten them. The adult birds take care of that. I have cockatiels too and I've seen the hen go for a wash in the water bowl and hop back into the nest without grooming herself, so I guess she wanted to moisten the eggs, purely by instinct.

If you feel its necessary, perhaps you could spray a mist over a parent bird, when out of the nest, and let them do it?

Or just make sure they have access to a bowl large and shallow enough to bathe?

Do not put water on the eggs you could chill them. Instead put a shallow bowl of water at the bottom of the cage.
The hen will dip her tummy in the water and sit on the eggs.
