Not really.
The test is designed to see if your body balances what you intake. Even if you don't eat regularly, you should maintain a certain amount of glucose in your blood. The body stores glucose it doesn'tneed, and makes it when it needs it, keeping the blood on a relatively even level.
You may have an overall low test, but unless it's dangerously low or high, it won't be a problem. Bad eating habits only cause this over extended periods of time, and that would show up regardless of what you have eaten over the last week.

No, the test is to see how well your body deals with glucose and tests the level before and then hourly after for two hours watching the levels decrease.
To the lady above who says her sugars were still high. The liver releases sugar into our blood stream also so it might not have been your food that put your sugars up

Yes, it can. I am assuming you are taking this test because you are pregnant. It can make your system overreact resulting in higher numbers. If your test is borderline, then I'd consider retesting before treating. If all stages are high, then it won't really matter; it's accurate enough to require treatment.
There were several articles regarding the meal the night before (actually several days before, but at least the night before) to have to get a correct reading. This is the only one I could find immediately.
If you are not pregnant, generally, the doc will confirm with an A1C test.

The sweet news is nearly 80% of our population is going to be diates in the near future. The shocking news is the so-called experts dont know the cause and they are treating the patients from the developing stage to the final stage. Treatment, treatment, treatment-till death. Doctors are well off. Hospitals are in very good conditions and they are skyrocketing. But, the patients are poorer and poorer because of various tests, x-rays, scans, etc. Life-long medications, injections, dialysis, kidney transplantations etc.etc. It is time to think whether we have to live or the doctors have to live. Diabetic is a condition and not a diesease. Who is making this as a permanant disease? Poison is injected into our body right from the womb till death. Our body could not bear those poisons. The reason for diabetes is not over eating, obesity, lack of exercise, lack of nutrition etc. etc. It is something else which is shocking to the medical world whick is stereophonically repeating the same thing. I have only given a guideline for you to think and to live a healthy life. Diabetes is not cureable is also false. Diabetes is completely curable in Acupuncture. Regards. i ate just 2 cream crackers and had a lemon tea with no sugar and my blood glucose level was still 14.8 5hrs later so it does'nt seem to matter what you eat if your diabetic it will show up after a fasting test.
