Absolutely.
The most common way cold sores (oral herpes) are spread is by kissing someone who has them. But, you can also contract cold sores from sharing drinks, sharing chap stick or lip stick, or sharing a cigarette with someone who has cold sores. Basically anything a person with cold sores has had on their lips can spread it to another person if they put that object on their lips.

well if someone has an active sore and is actually oozing and you drink immediately after that person drinks its a possibility. Herpes can be passed on even if you dont have symptoms.Type1 and Type 2 are both herpes virus, just named Type1 because its oral and can also easily be passed to the genitals resulting in Type 2....

Yes, if the person has herpes. But its only cold sores. Most people will get them throughout their life and pass them on. They are not always there and they only will spread when they are visible. But that doesnt mean you are gross. Do not worry. I personally do not have cold sores, but know people who do. They arent bad, even if you get them a little make up will take care of it. Or Abreva.
