An infarction is blockage of a blood vessel and ichemia to the surrounding tissue that the blocked vessel normally supplies. This is indeed a stroke.
The ultimate manifestations can range from mild to severe, depending on the area affected. Mid-brain simply refers to the area of the brain affected by the blockage. If caught early, there are some very good treatments.

Depends on the extent and area involved, the common symptoms are dysarthria, and loss of hearing , inability to eat , involuntary passage of urine, consciousness level may be dispersed and eventually is RTI or UTI infection , Coma and death ensues. Other symptoms of wild involuntary movements take place and patients have to be tied up. Prognosis is very poor.

Hi buddy. Your dad can be given thrombolytics, which dissolves clots, and anticoagulants, which help prevent clots. I do not know any uhm, alternative meds for that but tell him to avoid foods high in Vitamin K like dark green leafy veggies cause Vitamin K is known for blood clotting and we wouldn't want much of that
