well is not, I am Mexican and have tried it twice, one out of curiosity the other out of hunger (it was the only place we could find open), let me tell you it is the most discusting thing I have ever tasted, and I hate that people in the U.S. think that is Mexican food, you need to find authentic Mexican food and try it, you will love it.

Some examples, of real Mexican food are: mole, carne asada, birria, pozole, tamales, tostadas, tacos dorados (htese are fried in oil) w/shreded beef, soft tacos (carnitas, carne adobada, bistec, cabeza, tripitas), gorditas, guacamole, salsa (many types), barbacoa, burritos (carne deshebrada -shreded beef), nopalitos.
It's not all about beans and rice, although they're an important part of Mexican meals and tortillas too, flour and corn.

I live in Arkansas and I used to travel to Houston and Galveston ....I first ran into the road side vendors.....At first I passed them by.....But later I stopped....Damn that's "home cooking".

A couple of months ago My wife and I drove to Little Rock and I saw a "Mexican" vendor.......I looked at her and asked "You ever had real Mexican food?"...She said Taco Bell......My reply was Bull Sh*t....And we stopped.
She loved it!!!!!

How the h*ll can you call it a taco when there's not even onion on it?????? I mean who came up with that???

So it true American tradition someone needs to open a fast food chain with the real deal...Fast and cheap... Ill eat there!!

Hey I just thought of the name:
NOT Taco Bell-
And replace the bell with the Eagle Just like its shown on the Mexican flag..............

Taco Bell is not Mexican food!!!! I come from a Mexican-American family and I can assure you that it is not Mexican. Taco Bell is nothing but fast food that uses Mexican ingredients. A real taco uses soft tortillas, not the hard shell. Also "real" tacos use carne asada, not ground beef! While it may be cheap, its not authentic Mexican Food.

Mexican food is delicious. Unfortunately, what passes for Mexican food in the US is really just Tex-Mex. We need to educate these people so we can get some REAL DAMN FOOD IN THIS COUNTRY!!! What pisses me off the most is that a lot of these "Mexican" restaraunts are owned by Mexicans pandering to the American palette. When will someone realize that there is a market for good food in America?

genuine Mexican is lots greater helpful. Taco Bell is entirely a speedy nutrients joint benefiting from the term "Mexican" nutrients. Even Mexican's look at Taco Bell's menu and ask's "What the heck is that?!?" genuine for me!

Hmm, I'd call it pseudo-Mexican food. I've heard that in Mexico a taco is always a soft shell tortilla with beans, no hard shells with beef. I don't suppose Chi-Chi's is much better.

But perhaps the hard-shell beef 'taco' can be America's signature food, one of the few that we've invented ourselves. People always say 'American as Apple Pie' but apple pie is from medieval Europe.

I love Taco Bell, though.

Well, if the people cooking are Mexican-does that make it mexican food? Just kidding. It is most certainly not close to authentic. It is fast food the same ingredients combined 50 different ways- that's America for you!

I live in L.A. and am blessed to have REAL Mexican food offered all around the city, but that doesn't stop me from the occasional trip to Taco Bell. Sometimes, you just want to be full, for $2.32!!! (Even if you do burp it for the rest of the day!)
;-)

Not just no, but HELL NO!!! I agree it's just plain nasty. I'm Mexican, so I've had real mexican food. Besides, I live in a city full of Mexicans, so you know there are plenty of good authentic Mexican restaurants here.

I know what you are talking about. I am only part Mexican but Taco Bell is not even close to the real thing. Perfer my Nana Torres' cooking over that crap anyday.

No, im mexican to and Taco Bell is just fast food with mexican ingrediants. Real Mexican food is enchiladas or birria or mole. so much more than what taco bell offers.
