I use a food dehydrator. You just wash them well, slice, place on the dehydrating plate and turn the machine on. You can dry them until they are the texture you want-usually about 8 hours. Since a dehydrator stays below 107 degrees, it doesnt destroy the enzymes in the food, so its as good as eating it fresh. Most storebought dehydrated things have been treated with sulfites and preservatives. I prefer to do it from home. You could probably find one at a thrift store, or they are about 30 dollars in walmart and kmart

I made a recipe where you blended blueberries in the blender and spread them on a baking sheet covered with plastic wrap, then bake it in the oven at 150 degrees for 7-8 hours!! It took forever but it was really good. That might work with whole fruit too. Oh and you have to leave the oven door open a crack so don't try this when it's hot out unless you have central air or live in alaska!

A food dehydrator will do the job. It has trays so you can place slices of various fruits and veggies in there at one time. I like dried bananas....yummy

There are machines you can buy that use low temperature electric heating of items that are sliced and arranged on their trays. The alternative is to get sun-powered dryers which are cloth mesh bags (insect-proof) that you fill with sliced items and leave outside on sunny days.

for this to work you have to slice thin and no you dont have to have a food dehydrater. lets take strawberries. slice thin, and put into your oven at 125 degrees for about 5 hours. BAM! you have dried strawberries. if you do apples make sure to use lemon juice on um so they dont brown.
