I am just starting to take healthier foods in my lunch and I am trying to find out what I could take on my sandwiches. I don't eat meat so I can't have meat fillers. Also, there is no refriderator at school to keep my sandwich cold. Is there anything I could take that sounds healthy yet appetizing?

Why not buy a thermos and have a nice hot lunch instead of a sandwich? My 12 year old veggie daughter has a hot lunch every day. You could have mac and cheese, veggie soup, cream of veggie soup, veggie stew, roasted veg, mashed potato and veggie gravy, curried cous cous, spanish rice, stir fry, tortellini, ravioli, spagetti, etc. You could maybe take some bread rolls or crackers, and a cookie or muffin for dessert. If you want a sandwich, try some spanish rice, lettuce, tomato, and sprouts rolled up in a tortilla for a wrap. Or, a nice pasta salad. (The thermos will keep things cold too) I hope this helps, my daughter loves her veggie lunches, and her friends always want a taste of her yummy smelling stuff! The principal even comes by to see what she is having, and says he has never seen so many creative meals. Have a nice weekend

There is vegetarian lunch meat out there. It's made by yves i believe! I get mine at walmart in the produce section with the organic foods. You could also make tomato, mozzerella and basil pesto sandwiches. Another good idea is to pack pizza sauce, and mozz cheese and a bagel. have a "cold pizza".

The vegan luch box has great ideas, the first person gave you the link. The food is vegan, but great. Very creative and well put together. She also has a book of recipes.

Get yourself a lunchbag that keeps food cold - then you can take leftovers, or whatever kind of sandwich you like. Whole wheat if possible!
