Its one of my staple foods, and yes they are a bit heavy sometimes, but they are very filling. I use them in loads of different ways. They are usually what I have as my main meal of the day.

I'm going to assume by heavy you mean heavily used.

No, I only have potatoes about 1-2 times per week. I'm more of a pasta junkie.

I like my Mike Sells potato chips. And my sister's mashed potatoes.And french fries.Sometimes I like raw potato slices with salt.

No,I don't put butter on it so it isn't really heavy(baked potatoe).The last time I had fries I got full though.

I have trouble lifting 5 pounds of anything (mutliple types of arthritis), but why would it be any different for vegetarians or vegans than it is for omnivores?

Not so much-whole grains,beans/legumes and fresh produce feature much more heavily in my diet.
