Are you talking about the HPV shot, guardisil?
It will keep you from getting 4 types of warts which cause ovarian cancer. There were 5 out of 1200 girls that got the shot during researching and testing that got pregnant within 1 month of the shot. They had congenital anomalies. Is that normal % for 1200 ? don't know statistically....,., I would wait.

there are the hepatitus A and B shots, and maybe more hep shots, i'm not sure what's out there for those. i just had to get the B to go to college and the A for a class trip to Turkey (i'm from the US).
there is guardasil, to prevent HPV infection in girls/women ages 9-26 who haven't had HPV. if you haven't had any contact with HPV, like if you're a virgin older than 26, i'm sure they'd give it to you.
they're testing it on women older than 26 right now. for women who have had HPV, the FDA warns that this shot could worsen the condition (darn, because i have one strain of HPV that is covered by the shot but would like protection from the other strains. i don't think it's fair!). :)
