What does the spanish word "porfa" mean? Is it a way of saying por favor? I see it used on spanish-language message boards.

Yes, it's clearly the lazy way of saying "por favor".

Although if you're too lazy to spell it out, why should you expect other people to make the effort?

It is a shortening for

por favor = please

In Spain it is very much used to say porfa or porfi.
