a friend of mine is getting married to a person who stammers, ;wanted to know will that also pass on as heridity to her kidz?

Yes, stuttering does run in families. You can read about the research that has been done at www.stutteringhelp.org and click on "basic research." Also, read their online newsletters for latest information.

Yes, I have several uncles and cousins who stutter. That doesn't mean that their children will stutter, but they will have more of a tendancy to do so and they will have a better chance of it being a lifelong stutter instead of "just a phase" that many young children go through. If they educate themselves of ways they can help their children from the first signs of any stuttering, the child has a better chance of overcoming it. Go to stutteringhelp.org to find ways parents can help children. Also, the man she is marrying needs to get The Stuttering Foundation's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" and work on his own stuttering. It can be overcome.

no..............but.....................the is a 5% chance.
even if it happens the kids wont stammer like the father they will be better.....

in case you did not know stammaring is no longer a big problem because it has a treatment
