Who here really doesnt give a crap about looks? everyone has thought or said in he past that they don't care about looks, but i know they're lying. My best friend has a facial deformity, and she is upset because she just got dumped because of it. She is thinking about plastic surgery.
She asked me to be honest about my opinion, but i just don't think i can tell her that her face is more grotesque then a dead pig at the slaughter house. I think she should have the surgery, but what if she wakes up after wards, and doesn't recognise herself in the mirror?

I think real beauty is on the inside and between the ears. You can't alter that. Either you have *IT* or you don't...and plastic surgery will only make you look weird and you're still not "beautiful".

If she has a true facial deformity plastic surgery is the way to go. In fact, that was the original purpose of plastic surgery, to deal with real deformities and facial injuries.
In her case, the abnormality is preventing her beauty from being seen. This is way different than people constantly trying to improve on beauty that isn't there.
I am sure, at the had of a competent plastic surgeon she will, look in the mirror and see that she now looks the way she feels rather than a distorted image caused by some malady.

I do give a crap about looks.
But to me, everyone is beautiful in their own ways. And beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder. The guy she liked may not find her attractive, but there should be someone who thinks otherwise. Yea, everyone's beautiful but some people are just more beautiful than others. The guy thinks she looks ugly but he's actually just comparing her to others without the facial deformities you said above.
Anyway, if she really liked that guy and she thinks that he would like her if she'd get the surgery... Then let her have the operation.
I just personally don't like the idea of recreating yourself just to make others want you.

the look is not everything but it's important,i totally believe in plastic surgeries if they are needed,try to be honest with your friend in a nice way, she will get used to the new look

okay i think you should tell her that if it makes her feel better about herself, she could do it. I think that sometimes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Tell her she is beautiful and loved by you no matter what.

just tell her what she wants to hear..then she will believe you..the truth will not set you free in this case..lie like a rug..
