My 8-year-old was complaining that she's not allowed to say it--uere? Something like that?--or "geil" and I assume I should have reacted less calmly than I did. (I know what's wrong with "geil".)

No, geil means horny but is used to mean "cool".

I am NOT asking about geil! I want a word that sounds like u-wer-eh and means "really" or "very".

I think geil means Sexy in english

It s obvious cause" Geil "apart from meaning "cool", it has other meanings:

horny, lewd, lustful, phat, prurient , randy, ruttish, salacious, voulptuous and wicked.
