Okay two questions! She is due to have kittens this coming monday. She has milk now coming from her nipples. Does that mean in the next 24 hours we will have babies? And how soon can I have her spayed? Do I have to wait untill all the kittens have homes? I took custody of a young girl and all she had was her cat whom was pregant!! I am so for spaying but I dont know how soon I can do it!!!!

The momma cat could give birth any day now... just observe her. As to when to spay her, well, personally I would wait until the kittens are weaned and eating solid food. Earlier then that you run the risk of momma cat's milk drying up and the kitten's opening up her stitches from kneading at her belly. Anyway, after the birth of the kittens, you have a 2 or 3 months before the cat goes into estrus again.

Does the girl know when the cat was mated? Cat gestation is 61-69 days. This website is helpful, you can look out for signs of labour:

The mother cat can be spayed as soon as her kittens are weaned (can survive on solid food)

I agree; the milk from the nipples sounds like she is almost ready to deliver... maybe sooner than Monday, so keep a close eye on her.

Since neutering requires she stay overnight at the vet's, you'll need to wait until she's weaned the kits as you can't safely separate them from her for an overnight visit to the vet at that stage of their little lives.

Congrats you will have a little bundle kitties to look after soon! Im also waiting on my cat who is heavily pregnant to have her babies! She should go in to labour soon apparently when the mother starts lactating she will give birth within 2-3 days but it could be sooner! good luck! hope this helps!

Take it to a vet and have it spayed. That will solve all the problems right there and will stop more unwanted kittens from being born
