vovlo 740 alternate autobox?

Question

I have a petrol, 86 ,740 running a BF22 Auto which is a bit sad.
rough changes ect. have tried all the remidies. ?? is there a box from another car which will fit in without much modification.
Ie Ford Holden auto or similar.

try asian warner model 70 or 71 the overdrive solinoid can be removed and replaced with a bypass kit from ipd usa. they shift pretty decent and bolt right in. goodluck.
