a) Be born into a wealthy upper class society family. They tend to marry within their own class (to avoid those seeking their money ;). Although they sometimes marry outside of their own class, this is the exception and not the norm. Can you really see Donald Trump (and he's "new money") letting his daughter marry some Joe Blow she met at a bar?

b) Be VERY attractive, and be in very good shape. I hate to admit it, but looks is universally one thing that *can* help one climb the social ladder in *some* cases. Shallow, yes, but so is money in general. We are hard wired by genes, so sometimes people can be blindsided by lust and make choices they normally wouldn't make. The problem in your case is that many (but not all) women are looking for resources as opposed to looks, unlike men.

So neither of these cases applies to you? Well, I have an idea...instead of trying to have a loveless, unhappy, manipulative, and shallow marriage, how about you try to earn some status and money yourself?

Dress well but not like you tried, make sure you are educated (go back to university if you need to) and can speak well, join a country club and pick up sports such as tennis and golf. Volunteer for local charities, and go to and host fundraisers for said charities. Work at getting noticed in your career. Have passion and establish a name for yourself. You can have a "blue collar" job like a chef but become well-known and respected in all circles if you perfect your trade. You can even get a loan and open your own restaurant. It's not luck, it's hard work.

You might even find that instead of considering marrying a "rich 80 year women" and becoming her pool boy ;) (really, you don't need me to tell you that is so wrong on so many levels), you might meet a "well off" and open-minded young women at college or a charity event.

All of this said, the idea is to find someone you LOVE and marry them, as opposed to marrying their bank statement. Bonus if they are rich (note that doesn't mean YOU will share that wealth-many wealthy families insist on prenups, regulations, etc.), but that shouldn't be your sole reason for wanting to marry them!

Work on yourself, and see what happens. Realize that hard work and effort is what ALL classes of people can respect. Rich families worked hard to get to where they are in most cases, they didn't get there overnight.

P.S. I have met poor couples who worked hard and are now enjoying a decent home and happy marriage. Money alone means nothing if the reasons behind the marriage are not right.

You need to socialize with high society so that you can meet rich women, assuming you are heterosexual. Go where the rich go, since you will meet lots of rich people at social events (i.e. cocktail parties, charity benefits). There are many books that go into further detail about this. Previously on the learning annex website I had seen some courses about marrying high net worth individuals; maybe this class is still being offered.

The rich mix with the rich, maybe set your sites on getting your self a better job and start saving, it seems a better option than marrying just for money.
