This is a state bill from California that mandates that all pets be spayed/neutered by 4 mos of age. Exemptions will be made for licensed breeders, working dogs, etc.

Ever worked at a dog pound and watched the animals being put down? Try it and see if it doesn't make You want to have all the animals spayed/neutered {and their unthinking owners too} so as to spare Their lives. I recently became the adopted owner of a stray cat. I took it off to the vet and had everything done so that It would have a happy life. There are dozens of stray cats in the factory area near My home. Every now and then some one poisons them. I don't like this idea but there are just no homes for the kittens.

Good luck enforcing it. I hope they set up clinics where this can be done cheaply because if they don't, it won't happen. Gee, now we're going to have "Cat Police". Sick 'em Garfield!

(Don't get me wrong, I believe cats should be spayed or neutered, but I don't believe in all that government intervention into our lives).

Yeah, good luck keeping that enforced. Some people want kittens. personally, I think it's worth the relatively small price of getting them fixed if you don't want kittens, but I really don't think it should be a law. Of course, I don't like a lot of California laws...

Wow, that really surprises me. I do not like fixing my cats until they are 6 months. I would hate that law.
