I would like to get more serious with her, how do I play this out? Do I bring her flowers before? She is a friend, but not a "close" friend, more of an acquaintance.

Giving her flowers is a lovely idea! If you're uncertain about that, just tell her it's to thank her for going with you. Then just see how the day goes. You might discover she wants to get more serious with you, too.
Good luck.

Flowers are always a nice gesture. My advice would be to take this nice and slow and not be too pushy. If you guys are more acquaintances than close friends, you don't want to scare her off by coming on too strong.
Just go to this event together, have a pleasant time, then a couple of days afterwards, ring her and say: "I had such a good time the other day, and not having to go there alone made all the difference. You must let me take you out to dinner as a little thank-you." Then take it from there.

Bringing her flowers, although very nice, might freak her out if your not certain she feels the same way about you as you do her. It might be a better idea to give them to her the next day after you see how the 'date' went and tell her they are a thank you for being your guest.
