The Hebrew word translated “soul” is "nephesh" which usually refers to the entire living being, to the whole individual.
"And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul." -- Genesis 2:7
(dust+breath of life=living soul).
According to the Bible, humans do not have souls; rather, they are souls.
The Bible also teaches that the soul is not immortal.
“The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” -- Ezekiel 18:4
From these scriptures we can properly draw a conclusion: A human is a soul. Therefore, when a human dies, a soul dies.
This understanding is supported throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, where we find such phrases as “in case a soul sins” (Leviticus 5:1), “any soul that will do any sort of work” (Leviticus 23:30), “in case a man is found kidnapping a soul” (Deuteronomy 24:7), “his soul got to be impatient” (Judges 16:16), “how long will you men keep irritating my soul?” (Job 19:2), and “my soul has been sleepless from grief.” -- Psalm 119:28.
The Greek word translated "spirit" is "pneuma" and the Hebrew word is "ruach". Both of them mean "breath" or "blow". So, the "breath of life" from Genesis 2:7 refers to spirit.
"Then the dust returns to the earth just as it happened to be and the spirit itself returns to the [true] God who gave it". -- Ecclesiastes 12:7
According to the Bible the spirit is God’s invisible active force that causes life or makes alive.
"For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten." -- Ecclesiastes 9:5

Soul is the attribute iof spirit.
Nobody can see a spirit. It is only the manifestation of spirit that can be perceived by our eyes or even by our thought.
It is the presence of spirit that flow out and called (the human) behavior that can be observed.
It is the soul that becomes the business of Psychology, because they do not believe the existence of spirit.

Destiny - I don't believe in it. We Make Our Own Fate By Our Own Choices. So if anything happens because of that, we're the only one who can be praised or blamed for it. Soul mates - I don't believe in this too...In all relationships, however, disagreement, conflict, and incompatibility will arise. Ultimately, no one is perfect. It takes work, growth, and changing ourselves to keep a relationship going on over time. Have a great day :-)

think of your soul as the motherboard in your computer , windows xp is your spirit, can you guess what part Microsoft plays ? the motherboard without xp isn´t gonna do much. xp without the updates from ¨ above ¨ will eventually turn vulnerable to any outside intrusion . your soul is pretty my lost unless you ask for guidance for you spirit. in order for your spirit to his job, it requires thankfulness and trust in the lord. the spirit was designed to work like this. when you´re thankful and happy to give charity to others, you enable your spirit to listen for the guidence we so much need. then comes the trust in the lord which is like having your mother guiding you through the mall while your eyes are blindfolded. you simple trust your mother won´t let you go around aimlessly.

The word "spirit," refers only to the immaterial facet of man. Mankind has a spirit, but we are not a spirit. However, in Scripture, only believers, those who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, are said to be "spiritually alive" (1 Corinthians 2:11; Hebrews 4:12; James 2:26). Unbelievers are "spiritually dead" (Ephesians 2:1-5; Colossians 2:13). In Paul's writing the "spirit" was pivotal to the spiritual life of the believer (1 Corinthians 2:14; 3:1; 15:45; Ephesians 1:3; 5:19; Colossians 1:9; 3:16). The spirit is the element in man which gives him the ability to have an intimate relationship with God. Whenever the word "spirit" is used, it refers to the immaterial part of man including his soul.
The word "soul" refers not only to the immaterial part of man but the also material part. Unlike man having a "spirit," man is a soul. In its most basic sense the word "soul" means "life." However, the Bible moves beyond "life" and into many areas. One of those areas is to man's eagerness to sin (Luke 12:26). Man is naturally evil and his soul is tainted as a result. The life principle is removed at the time of physical death (Genesis 35:18; Jeremiah 15:2). The "soul" as with the "spirit," is the center of many spiritual and emotional experiences (Job 30:25; Psalm 43:5; Jeremiah 13:17). Whenever the word "soul" is used, it can refer to the whole person, alive or after death.
The "soul" and the "spirit" are similar in the manner in which they are used in the spiritual life of the believer. They are different in their reference. The "soul" is man's horizontal view with the world. The "spirit" is man's vertical view with God. It is important to understand that both refer to the immaterial part of man, but only the "spirit" refers to the man's walk with God. The "soul" refers to man's walk in the world, both material and immaterial.

A plant has a body. An animal has a body and a soul. A person has a body, soul and spirit.
The soul is the drive, the desire, the nature.
The spirit is the relationship with reality, where free will meets predestination in an infinite paradox.
