Right now, my best friend and i are trying to get over each other - no, we didn't go out but decided to let things ride and didn't want to risk our relationship for something more right now in our lives. We'll hope and pray we can get another chance someday.

Anyhoo, we've been best friends for about three years; he's the guy i always go to and complain about weird guys hitting on me - he's always been there: taking care of me, saw me through my best and worst times. According to our friends, he's liked me this whole time and he just admitted it - "from the very beginning, i've always liked you..."

he's had no dating experience - never had a girlfriend and ALL of that stuff that comes with love - they physical stuff: cuddling, kisses, etc...He's pursued girls but never got it...until me...i was the first girl that's unlocked everything for him. He seemed happy ...neway, here's the question:

do you think he ever appreciated/valued what happened with us? Will he always remember?

DEFINATELY. 99% of guys can still remember their firsts and especially since you two have had a stronge relationship beforehand, to him, this has confirmed that you are meant to be together and is probably a bit hurt to find out you want to ride it out (i konw you say its mutual but if ehs the one that has confessed his love for you, im sure tehre would have to be some hurt/disappointment/rejection feeling attached to the outcome).. and yes guys who are less experienced in taht area (especially when theyre older) are ALOT more respectful and appreciative of girls ratehr than guys who have had every girl they wanted.. he sounds like ag reat guy maybe you two should try it out instead of leaving it as 'what if?'

Unfortunately, since you really can't know what's going on in his mind or how much stock he puts in memories, all you really have is how much you valued the relationship. If it taught you many things about yourself, gave you hope for the possibilities of love, and made you happy, then that's all you can ask for.

If he did appreciate and value the relationship, I'm sure he'll always remember. No one ever forgets their first love; they just learn to live without them.

Always and forever; if it was memorable between you guys, then he'll always cherish the memories of y'all for the rest of his life. You will help pave his path and even change his life a little.

it's easy for him to take things for granted once he had you as his girlfriend and what's more..you're the first gf.. maybe not all of them are like that..but who knows?
