Do people think they are weird, finatical, good, bad, just another denomination, too conservative, too liberal (I doubt anyone will think that, but you never know), too doctrinal, pagans, great....what is the general opinion.

For example, I think of Methodists, Lutherans, Anglicans, etc. as the big mainstream denominations

Baptists as a little more on the Evangelical side

Jehova's Witnesses as a little extreme (good people, just a little too out there for me to join up)

That sort of thing.

Observers are sometimes intimidated by the obvious devotion of Jehovah's Witnesses, but they should recognize that the bible actually commands certain things from those who would call themselves "Christian".

Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house

It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?

(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

a million: The baptism isn't to be repeated. All you ought to do is coach a letter from the church that did it. which could no longer complicated to get carry of. The RCC will take that because it really is and in no way re-baptize. you would ought to flow by ability of RCIA education and be shown contained in the RCC, notwithstanding. The priest can get you into those and they are free. 2: i do not study about the marriage project. Ask a clergyman. 3: The Nicene Creed is considered the bare minimum concept for all of us who calls himself a Christian. Failing to settle for any element of it ought to genuinely placed a damper on the precedence. Which section do you've a difficulty with, precisely?

In West Michigan, with all the Reformed and Christian Reformed people running around, the Catholics are on the liberal side.

Catholics are an ok bunch as far as believers go... I'd pack them into the same cooler as the Methodists and Lutherans... Everyone else is on the fringe and some are way, way over the edge.

An Atheists point of view.

It is human nature for us to feel that whatever religious teaching we ourselves follow is the only "right" path to follow; and yet each denomination loosely follows the same tenets...each has its own "omnipotent being" who for all intents and purposes is all one in the same.... Catholicism is ripe with ritual and organized worship...and for some, it is that very repetitious ritual that brings them comfort. And that's okay. Personally (and pls no disrespect is intended) I have a problem with a religion that has a man at the helm passing out judgments on his fellow man, and the followers of Catholicism accept his mandates without question. But, then ....c'est la vie.

I think that there are saved and unsaved in EVERY denomination (including the Catholics even though some don't consider them a denomination). No one denomination/church has a corner on truth or salvation.

My wife is a Catholic and I am just spiritual.Personally I think she likes to feel there better than everyone else because of there religion.I sometimes go to church with her,I like to listen to the choir sing and the stained glass is pretty on sunny days.I don't like the collection plate or the deacons wanting to know my business.

Catholics are cool. They seem to be more open minded than a lot of religions and let you make up your own mind about evolution. They aren't uptight about drinking and dancing and the saints and all that are interesting. They don't seem to take themselves oh so seriously. They don't seem as condemnatory as evangelicals.

Most of them don't know a lot about their faith. When I try to discuss things with them, about why they think this or that, they don't seem to know.

Hello, Warlock:

I think like heaven thinks:

"And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" (Revelation 6:9,10).

Heaven calls for venganced for the 50 million precious European souls killed in the Dark Ages, and for the 50 million Indian slaves killed in the Americas.

God does not forget, heaven does not forget, and a pope saying OOPS! does not change history or the facts: This counterfeit organization has faked it's history to convince the ignorant that Peter gave Rome the keys--and that lie was fabricated 200 years after Constantine allegedly forged a document making that claim.

God tells us one more time who the Abomination of Desolation is--He doesn't want us to forget--and hid it in a secret code for our days. Read it at www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

I'm sorry to say that I don't know too much about Catholicism. I'm Baptist and I haven't really read up on the religion.
