Hmmm, Sounds like She may not listen to you or anyone else, including her Doctor.
It all really settles upon who and when she will accept any evaluation or treatment.
If I were you, I would get your mother's consent to phone her Doctor emphasizing the fact that You are concerned about her and that her Doctor understands that you know your mother and won't let it rest.
If he is unresponsive, you better seek attention for her elsewhere( an Internist or Psychologist).
Of course there is quite a range of contributing factors here, including "small strokes" that may not be detectable on a gross neurological exam. The list goes on but these subtle changes do warrant investigation.........You're doing the right thing.

Well, it likely was your fault, but I have to admit that I would probably do the same thing if I saw a puppy running loose. I have, actually, and I have caught large dogs as well, but they have come to me when called or coaxed and I did not scruff them, but put a leash on them instead. As for everyone saying that this pup is abnormal, perhaps it is just going through a fear stage. I had a huge mixed breed who was afraid of everything when she was that age,and I've also had a VICIOUS 3 week old pup: <<<

Forget your small town doc. He is not LISTENING. Find a doctor who will. I suggest a D. O. or Doctor of Osteopathy. Some doctors are M.D.s or Medical Doctors. Others are D.O.s. a D.O. looks at more than just the symptoms described by the patient. They are trained to LISTEN. Also, you need to find a Gerontologist. This is a doctor who specializes in diseases, etc. of old age. He or she can better diagnose your mom.

You my have just said it yourself. (SMALL town). Maybe she knows her yrs are No'd. 10-15-20? Has she ever really been any place, h as she seen Disneyland or world, partied, etc.? Maybe she is just a bit uptight inside and has to get out and see and do things and exercise her body and mind and then go back to her hotel room exhausted while she's on vacation. I know, I am there except $$$$. It's wonderful that you are there and care a lot. I'm lucky, all my kids and 6 Gkids are w/in 15 miles. I get their company all the time. I am widowed. So it's just me and my Siberian.

My mom changed like that and she was diagnosed with age related physios. If you want to test her for Alzheimer's here is a simple way. Have her draw a clock and put the hands at 10 minutes after 11. My Mothers doctor did the same test to her twice to check for Alzheimer's. My mom started having auditory and visuals hallucinations and was put on Respiradol. After that her health declined rapidly. Hopefully your mom wont need to take this medicine.

she could be getting the beginning stages (and forgive the spelling) althimers. it does start at an early age like 65 my uncle had it and he started when he was about that age. ask her doctor to test her for it. i know my uncle used to get very frusterated about that. so that is something to deffinaly look into. they have some treatment for the early stages of it and it might benifit her to have that. i have heard good things about them. i think it is hard to diagnose althimers however they are coming up with new stuff every day. hope this helps and i will be praying for you and your mom
