This is something that you have to take on faith. How do we know anything from the Bible, or any other religion's documents are true? Since we can't go back in time, we can't prove it. Scholars believe that Jesus, the Virgin Mary, etc. were historical people.. but as to what is written, that is something you have to decide for yourself.

I am really tired of answering this question but here goes (hopefully for the last time). Mary was a “virgin” in spirit, nothing more. Virgins don’t have babies, do they? Has it ever been observed that a virgin gives birth to a god-man? No. All terminology such as virgin birth, resurrection, heaven, spirit, hell, raise the dead, sacrifice, etc., etc., etc., was to the original christians spiritual speech, it was never meant to be taken literally. Even in the Christian dogma Jesus says “Why can’t you understand my language, is it because I speak spirit?” Some took it all literally and the result is called “Christianity.”

If it were only her t estimony, I suppose it would be open to debate. However, she was examined by the older women, who had no reason to lie about it. Also, I'm pretty sure Joseph would have known. He took the angel's word for it.
Oh, and, while it is true, the translation in Isaiah would be "young woman", a "young woman" in her culture that turned up pregnant without having had sex with her betrothed, wouldn't live to tell the tale. Joseph had every right to call for her death...but he didn't. He considered "putting her away privately", (which we hope means he planned to divorce her, not do away with her quietly and slip her body into the lake), but again, Joe took the angel's word for it. For Joseph to go against everything he stood for, must have been some pretty strong evidence.

Yep, the bible does tell us! It even tells us Mary was a virgin even after Jesus' birth!

Consider these points:

1. The bible states, "Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, a brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not his sisters our neighbors here?" Well, there was NO word for "cousin, aunt, uncle, etc" in Hebrew, so everyone called themselves brother or "adelphos" which means a real brother.
(This is shown in the Old Testament when Lot is called Abraham's brother instead of his nephew.)

2. Let's say that Mary wasn't a virgin after Jesus' birth since the bible supposedly makes references to Jesus' brothers and sisters. If you count how many "children" Mary had, you'd probably end up with 80 or 90 children! These are one of the things that are not supposed to be taken literally.

3. John 19:26 tells us that Jesus instructed one of his apostles to take care of Mary. Now if Jesus had brothers and sisters, why didn't he ask one of THEM to take care of their mother? Talk about a slap in the face! Jesus' last actions would not be to offend his "brothers and sisters" right before his death!

So ask you can see, she always remained a virgin :)

God bless!

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
Mat 1:20 But1 while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her846 is of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Mat 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child,, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us
Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS
Read the verses of the bible, New Testament, Mathew Chapter 1 verses 24, which I have written for your reference in believing that Mary was a virgin when He got pregnat and have born Jesus Christ.

Note that there was no sex involve between Mary and Joseph until after the birth of Jesus.

because she became pregnant without ever having had sex with a mortal man. Also, the archangel Gabriel appeared to her and told her the power of the Holy Spirit would cause her to have a baby!

Believe it or not!!

After she had Jesus, she had other kids. Jesus brothers and sister are mentinoed in the new testament. This is directly contracdicted by catholic teaching which maintains that Mary is "ever" virgin!

if you are genuinely curious as opposed to just pissing off christians (which i admit is quite fun, and easy) look up the word for virgin in the original (Hebrew?) text. I've heard that it doesn't mean actual no-sex virgin, but just that she had the right kind of spirit.

Because the Quran is the Word of God and He says

[She said, “My Lord! How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. When He decides on something, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.”] (Aal `Imran 3:47)

[“Maryam, God has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women”] (Aal `Imran 3:42).

[Maryam, the daughter of `Imran, who guarded her chastity—We breathed Our Spirit into her and she confirmed the Words of her Lord and His Book and was one of the devout] (At-Tahrim 66:12)

Maryam is Mary, in case you're confused.

According to must Jews..the prophecy of "the virgin' is actually meaning young girl...which we would hope would be a virgin in the since we mean it too be too. It was common in that area for girl to marry once she reached puberty.

Faith is what gets us thru the uncertainties in life and also what assures us in life. When you are assured in faith, these questions are no longer question that haunt you. You just know, because Faith in God/Jesus gives you the settled assurance to life's questions such as this. So, I can say without a doubt, "I just know, because I believe what The Word says"
