No you don't, it is improper and tacky. An accountant/tax preparer is not someone in the "service industry". They are professionals and giving a tip is unwarranted (even though I understand you appreciate her help) and could quit possibly offend and insult her. It is definitely not appropriate to tip your tax preparer. I think it is very sweet that you want to express your gratitude. However, I would suggest sending a nice flower arrangement or gift basket filled with goodies instead of leaving a cash tip. This type of thoughtfulness actually means much more than cash to a lot of people.

No. They may or may not "get paid enough" depending on where they work, but accepting a tip can be seen as a conflict of interest and cost them their job. If you want to do something for your preparer, go back and see them again next year.

no they make enough money don't stress it - you tip your barber cause he has the ability to make you look like a fool - your tax man is doing a good job so he can get paid at the end of the week like the rest of us.

I have never heard of tipping a tax preparer. They get a salary and this should be fine. I dont think that you need to tip them. I had to pay mine $350.00 so that is all that mine is getting out of me.

No. In fact, that would probably be viewed as illegal kickbacks by the Gov.

If you want to tip her, send her flowers and a card saying "Thanks for job well done and ever so sweetly." With your name on it.
