In gas ONLY (and assuming you sail along and do not sit idling in traffic) it will cost about $120, but taking in consideration all other costs (tires, oil, wear and tear, etc.) it will be over $450 (GENERAL RULE: it costs about 55 cents per mile to operate an average car.)

take 822 miles divided by 28 miles and get the total amount of gallons needed. then take the gallons (29.357142gal. times $4) times the price of gas..That comes to $117.428572. But you must also figure in the wind resistance, hill grade, weight, stops, slower speeds, city traffic, standing idle, Different areas and states have different gas prices and so many other variables. I suggest taking at least $165. $200 for best planning. I hope its one way or you have to think about how much you might drive there. Always plan for the worst.

What you don't have a calculator? With out knowing the size of your tank it's difficult to give you a good esitmate. but you figure your getting 28 MPG most cars go about 300 miles before needed to be fueled up. Lets say every time you fill up you put 10 gallons in it. Thats 280 miles per tank. 280+280+280 is 840. 10+10+10 thats 30 gallons. Then 30 times 4 would be 120. So it would be about $120 dollars. but again thats with out knowing the size of your tank.

Using the above reference tool I show 822 miles divided by 28 mpg = 29.35
Then multiplying that number by 4.00 gives 117.40
