I want to have more faith in my life... how do I do that? Can people just show up to church on Sunday or do they have to be invited? I accepted God into my life when I was 8 and went to church until I was about 14 and I'm now 18 and I've been pretty sinful and I want to have a better life. How do I do this?

First, start by thinking about the things that you've done that were wrong -- the people you've hurt and the stuff that you deliberately did, even though you knew it wasn't right.

Then you need to talk to God in prayer about those things. Tell Him that you're sorry for your sins and that you want His help so that you never do them again.

And finally, ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Tell Him that you want Him to be your Friend and always be with you. Just talk to Him as if He was sitting there in the same room with you. Even if you don't "feel" any different, trust Him and know that He is working in your life.

Find a good church that teaches the Bible, and talk to the minister about how you can grow in your new Christian faith. Read the Bible daily, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand it and apply it to your life.

And try to find a group of believers to pray and study with -- they will help you when you have questions. It's always good to have a mentor when you're first learning about the Christian life.

God bless you!

If you really accepted Christ when you were eight (Believe in Jesus' death as salvation, confess, repent, ask for foregiveness, the whole deal), then you are still a Christian. That can never change. But obviously, it is very possible to backslide into a life of sin again. Since you know that you were wrong, start off by asking God for forgiveness and for strength to not go back to sin again. Going to a church is definetly a good thing, and when you develop friendships with the people there, they will help keep you accountable. But if you're still hesitant, at least start reading the Bible as often as possible and praying about what you read. I'll pray for you!

if you accepted Christ at age 8 you are a Christian. You've just wandered off track. Anyone can just show up at church. Just look at their signs for the times to come for services. We have ALL been sinful. that's why we need the forgiveness Jesus provides. A- admit you are a sinner
B--believe in your heart the Lord Jesus is Christ
C-commit your life to Him and confess to someone with your mouth that you are saved.
Get a Bible and start reading the New Testament. The Old Testament is good, too, but not for a beginning Christian.
Best wishes for your new life.

The first thing that I must say is that you made the first step when you decided in your mind that you wanted to change and give you life to the Lord. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Second, you don't have to be invited to church.........you are just welcomed as you are. I don't know what your religion is but my choice of religion is Non-Denomination. I go to a church where you are welcomed no matter what race you are or what you look like or no matter what you are wearing. All you have to do in order to accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart is to first ask him for forgiveness of your sins, then thank him for being your heavenly father, and talk to him as if you know him........he will listen! Ask him to come into your life and lead you into temptation. I hope that this helps you.
Also remember that Jesus loved you even when you didn't give him recognition for being the reason you woke up to see another day. He will never forsake you, nor lead you astray. Remember that.

Commit yourself to God through prayer. You can do that right now. Come as you are. Jesus doesn't ask for anything else. God changes us. Jesus loves us, and it is only through him that we can find the grace to start over. Find a good Church in your area with a good youth program. Go there, But, don't stop there.

Read the bible. If you don't get the King James version buy an NIV, or I highly suggest the amplified bible. the only way to get to know Jesus is through his word. The Bible says, in the beginning there was the word, and it was with God and it was God. It's like reading God's dairy. You can know everything you need to know from that book. Then talk to him! Pray all you can. He'll speak to you too.

Once you're trying, you're doing what God wants you to do. You'll makes mistakes. You'll be tempted just like Jesus was, but don't sweat it. We all go through it.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. (Ps 37.23-24)

And don't take "baby steps". You give yourself to Christ completely. It's the only way God can move freely in your life.

(Jesus said:) "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

* Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
* Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
* So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
* Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
* Therefore do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
* But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

You've done the hard part already! You are seeking God. Bible says, "seek and you shall find".

You can go to church. If I were you I'd go to a Calvary Chapel. They are dynamic churches that will not water down the gospel!

Prayer is probably the first place to start. God will hear a contrite and seeking heart. He will meet you more than half way!!! He loves you!

It is simply. Do nothing. Thats right, only belive. When you belive what God has said then you are saved. Ther is no way to clean this flesh up. God upoun beliveing in Him,that He has accepted Christ's sacrifice,as payment for our sin. He begins a good work,a new man within you,and He and Him alone will see it through till the end. You have nothing to do with it.

Study the Bible Chapter by Chapter and Verse by Verse. Find a Good Church that will help you. Also, use a Strongs concordance to take the words back to their original meanings.

yes, you can be Christian if you want.

pray, crack open the Bible, call the number on the tv for your free book of Mormon, whatever......

If you have access to church - - do that. who up. it might be weird if you're going by yourself. - go to church with a friend.

the important thing is, "baby steps." You can turn your life over to God immediately and make changes, but those changes may take time - be patient.
