Do what you do, kiddo.
As long as you don't try to legislate your religion into the law of the land, or use it to defend hate crimes -- I'm cool with it.

You must belong to the New Age Movement; where you worship the creation and not the Creator. There might be some truth to that. When God directed Noah to gather all creatures large and small before the Great Flood.. After all, the creation of animals came about before the creation of man.
However, evolution and the Big Bang Theory are all foreplay for the denial of the existence of God.
And to imagine the soul or essence of a rock is too far fetched. By the way, how many rocks did Noah load on the ark?
Animism?
Animism is a belief system that does not accept the separation of body and soul, of spirit from matter. As such it is based upon the belief that personalized souls are found in animals, plants, and other material objects, governing, to some degree, their existence. It also assumes that this unification of matter and spirit plays a role in daily life. A belief that there are living souls in trees; stones, stars, and other objects. How can you equate the spritualism of man to these inaminate objects?
You must be an ecopagan or at best, a neopagan. certainly, your religion if you could call it that ; is the most primitive form of belief.
Normally, I only answer questions that pique my interests. So thanks for giving me the reason to read up on this belief of yours.

You are entitled to your own beliefs and can express them if so desired, those that don't agree are closed minded,in other words it's their way or else. Religion is a closed minded concept in that it is as the bible says and thats that and if your views are different then you will get the standard your going to hell reply. There are those today that still believe in a flat earth theory dispite all evidence to the contrary. The dark ages set the world back untold number of years because of religious persecution that was conducted and carried out in the name of god. It all stems from closed thinking and refusing to listen to others. If we lead a good decent life and harm no one, help others etc. at least your not being hypocritical. How many go to church and profess being a christian and then turn around and it's business as usual.

"Atheists tell me I am delusional for believing in any metaphysics(although I can't see how I'm hurting anybody..."
They didn't say you were hurting anyone... the said you're delusional - there is a difference, you know? And if you really think rocks have "spirit," I can't say I'm surprised at all that you've been told things like this... Gosh, your kind of thinking really puts an entirely new dimension on delusional, doesn't it?
Look, nobody hates your beliefs. Perhaps they just can't fathom that anyone would ever be quite so wacko and speak proudly about it...
(You do have a qualified professional looking after you, right?)

I think you should be able to believe whatever you want, but know matter what you pick someone is going to disagree with it. Lots of people on here make rude comments. There are a lot of bigots and jerks. Don't let them get to you.
Honestly, I agree. Everything is energy. Mass is just condensed energy. If you believe that everything is connected then rocks would have an essence, would give off an energy.
I often reflect on the characteristics of animals and when I find one that I like, like the wolf, I attempt to take on characteristics of that animal. A lot can be learned from animals and meditating on becoming like certain animals is a very effective form of magick.
I have never heard the term animism before. I will look into that. Thanks.

I'm not into animism, but I do believe the entire universe is connected to one force or 'soul'. I think what you believe is true.
Animism a type of religious belief that all components of the universe, including humans, animals, plant life, rocks, etc. contain some form of life force, soul or spirit. Some are seen as friendly spirits; others as tricksters.
It's the "Some are seen as friendly spirits; others as tricksters" part I don't agree with. I don't see the life force, spirit, or soul as having human traits - such as good or evil.
I follow Taoism. Taoism is not personal. Taoism does not offer salvation. Tao is.

Whatever floats your boat, honey, you're A-OK by me!
It's hard when people are so unnacepting that way. All you can do is try to let it make you stronger, try to look past certain individuals to perceive the whole, and try to understand that the people that act that way aren't representative of the entire group, they are just more noticable because it's thier thing to try and get under your skin. It's not a reflection of you, it's not a reflection of thier religion, or lack thereof, it's a reflection of people who feel bad about themselves, and thier low self esteem doesn't make allowances for others because they don't have the wherewithal to feel "right" in themselves, for whatever reason, they have a need to get everybody on thier side in order to feel right about what they are doing. They need someone to be "wrong", in order for them to feel "right". That is a lack on thier part, not yours. Enjoy a blessed and lovely day... and stay happy!

I don't understand what you mean about animism -- the word itself is vague. I don't mind the poetic sense of what you're trying to say, and I also don't mind the poetic God, even though I don't use that word because I don't want fundies to try to say I'm on their side.
With regard to metaphysics -- I think by definition, metaphysics don't exist. There are parts of physics we don't understand yet, but those are still just normal physics.
I probably simply don't agree with you. Don't go around putting your sacred text in court houses or school houses, and we'll get along though.

In this selfish world, it is so easy for some people to 'shut the door of one’s compassions and ignore the needs of others. I can understand how upset you might feel, I wouldn’t want to be bashed for what I truly believe either. However, true Christians acknowledge that only God and Jesus Christ have the right to judge others. I do believe you are truly sincere in your convictions, but I also hope that you would be concerned about what is true and accurate. Jesus said "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). The truth that Jesus was talking about is the truth about himself, the Son of God. It is only by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus' perfect human life that anyone can be freed from sin and death. Accordingly, if we want our worship to be acceptable to God , we must know the truth. Therefore the question in relation to you is, are you open to what a careful investigation of the truth might reveal?

I am a Christian....and will not tell u that u will go to hell. because as a Christian..i am not to judge. but i will say....that according to my religion...if u continue on the path that u are on...I believe u will go to hell. but ur religion is not my religion. and i cant judge. who knows...maybe one day u might wanna be a Christian...or u may stay with animism...but God will save who He wants.....not who WE want. it is okay to believe that nature has a soul....this is a positive outlook on nature...but as a Christian...i wouldnt look to nature as my guide...and neither would i believe that it has a soul...but i believe that it is special...and should be treated with kindness. I cannot say that ur religion is right...but i cant say that mine is right either..because there is no physical proof or evidence that God exists....but i believe He exists..because He is in my heart....and i believe that i am saved. on my bnehalf of other Christians...i am sorry if they offended u. i really am. but i also think that according to our religion...they were only trying to inform u as to what they think. im sure that if u saw someone cutting down beautiful trees...would u not try to stop them because u believe it has a soul? our beliefs form our behavior...and as a Christian...we inform people...and try to stop them. because thats our belief. and urs is that nature is part of a larger soul. so i do think u would try to stop them...and u may not say to them because they have a soul...but u stop them because of it. our beliefs play a huge part in who we are...and what we become...and when Christians tell u that u will go to hell...i dont think they say it carelessly...but i think that it is just a reaction as urs would be if u saw someone ruining nature.
God bless u...=]
P.S. sorry if there are alot of typos...i type fast and miss some letters n stuff.

Erm, question, why does it matter?... They tell you you're wrong because they believe differenty, and naturally if they believe something else to be true that doesn't correspond with your belief, then they have to believe you to be wrong... So, should beliefs come up (I can't see how they'd know yours if they weren't on the topic), don't they have as much right to tell you of their belief that you're wrong as you do to tell them of your belief that you're right?... I mean personal attacks are one thing, but you haven't said you've received many of those, just disagreement, which you don't have to listen to.
So going back to my original question, why does it matter? You believe what you believe, and it may be enlightening to some to hear how you reached that conclusion, but to those that aren't willing to entertain the idea, I see no reason why you should be willing to entertain theirs. Likewise though, if they come up with a reasonable why they think your belief couldn't possibly be true, what's wrong with listening to it and responding?
